I’m thinking about Being Charged, The drive for competence.

The question is, what unimportant activities are you spending too much time on, which could be better utilized to try meaningful new things?
John Wooden asks us to seek significant change.  I’m wondering if the marathon training is one of those things.  It’s tough because I love to be in excellent shape. One of the coolest things is knowing that for about 9 months out of each year I can run 20+ miles without a problem. I mean come on, how many people can say that.  I know right, now how many people can say it and mean it.  It’s just a great feeling. But I’m wondering if I should be making more of a contribution to a bigger cause. As I grow and become the person I want to be, I am seeing that I am also becoming the person the world needs me to be. This may pull me off of the road and into peoples home.
Are you spending too much time performing an activity that is unimportant?

Tattoos are for suckers

Five things I have learned about home decorating/fashion/organizing…

1.       Clean and organized people will usually be more successful than those who are not

2.       If you look good, you feel good. Remember we’re over 90% visual so if you want to be somebody you have to look like somebody

3.       To stay organized you must be willing to throw things away. Our brain is the ultimate organizing machine. Oh how quickly we are to throw out things that we feel are no longer important.  Learn from it.

4.       When it comes to fashion do not, and a repeat do not get a tattoo. That ink not only stains your skin, it also stains your brain

Its so good to look back.  How have you been? Its been a challenging week. Fun and exciting, but challenging. There were a few times I was unsure if I was going the right way.  At these times I took 2 steps back, drank some water, and took a deep breath.  How do you get through your tough times.

Amber is the color of your energy.   If you had to describe your energy level, what color would you use. Personally, I would choose a "cool blue".  Like the color blue you see when the wind blows.  Come on give me a color ?
If you could be anywhere, where would you be?

The Millionaire Messenger

This is a great book. I'm just getting started. So far its about finding yourself, and finding your voice.  Brenden Burchard, says we should ask ourselves a few questions everyday that will help us determine the quality of our lives.

Did I live? Did I love? Did I matter? If I had to answer those questions based on today I would say "Yes, yes and Yes" My reflection:

Yes, I lived. I ran a little over 2 miles and did "hot yoga".
The sweat alone reminds you that you are alive.

Yes I loved. I was able to pick my son up, look him in his eyes and let him know how much I love him and enjoy every moment we have together.

I think I mattered. As a physical therapist I was able to help one of my patients achieve her goal of getting her arms overhead, with ease. You see for some people its the little things.

Your answers to these questions will help you define the sweetness of your journey.

So my question to you is, Are you living, are you loving, does what you're doing matter?

Passions

If yesterday did not go the way wanted it to and you failed to make the most of yesterday, this happened because you forgot to pursue you passions. Once you find out what you are passionate about and what you truly love you must pursue it with vigor. Living without passion may be ok for a day here and there but if it continues daily and weekly or longer it will lead to a miserable life. If your passion is sports you must play that sport as if your life depends on it. And it does. Because at that moment that is all that life is about. If your passion is music you must sing as loud as you can. No matter what your passion is, no matter where your passion is, you must pursue it. You can do it!

Are you early or are you late. In his book Blink, Malcolm Gladwell teaches of the importance of logging 10,000 hours towards your craft in order to become a huge success.  Remember if it holds true or the Beatles, it probably holds true for you.
We must decide how you will go about logging these hours. Are you willing to wake up at 5:00am and get a move on the road to success or are you a night owl who we be out picking up every dollar to be earned in the dark.  As Mario Puzo once put it, "You can only get rich in the dark."
It doesn't matter when you do it. It only matters that you do it. And that you do it with enthusiasm. When will you log those extra hours?  I am logging mine now.  I'll see you in the morning!
